We had an amazing Marathon Weekend! Got checked in, pasta bar and pizza with Team Abbi, then a very full race day.
We arrived at dark:15 to help set up the cheer tent. Doug and Jodi had everything ready and it was super easy to roll out. We were a little late getting over to the start line so warm up was pretty much just the walk over. The excitement was electric!
Mike, Doug, and Kristy walked the 5K with some St. Jude friends. I enjoyed a casual 10K jog. I’m in my don’t care to push myself era and it shows in my finish time. I remain unbothered by time 😉
I employed all my yoga training and was listening to my body from the start. Using full breath technique and staying mindful of my alignment. Taking time for a dance break, walking when I needed to *hills*.
It was cold, but the sun was bright and I didn’t really feel too cold as long as I kept moving. I crossed the finish line a smile and minimal aches.
I’m glad I was able to go through the stadium this year. Got some yummy soup and pizza and chocolate milk. But then I went right over to our cheer station so I didn’t get to wait for all the finisher photo spots. But I plan to next year!
If you ran, I hope you remember coming by the Team Abbi Cheer Station. It’s 1/2 mile to finish. The banners of the St. Jude angels are great motivation for the final push. We had so many parents and family members, friends stop by to take a photo with their child. It really makes you remember why we are running this race, it’s to support them in the much harder race they’re running.
Here’s to a world where all cancers have a cure. 💛

Madyxx and I ran the HYROX PFT again today. Not the time I was hoping for, but I’m not disappointed.
We will continue to work on improving in all areas however, we need to decrease our overall time on those stinking wallballs. We have a plan! Another 8 weeks of training and we should be able to shave a few more seconds off of our time.
The HYROX PFT gives you a good indication of your level and for which division you should sign up to.
